About this Project
The existing gullies had loosened and the floor sub structure had started to collapse over years of use, with constant water ingress down the sides of the channels from washing down. This had become a hygiene issue for the client and been flagged on client audits. Due to the nature of the client’s production, the works had to be carried out at a shutdown period.
The existing gullies were removed and partially replaced. We then excavated the degraded concrete back to sound material, cleaned down and sealed the new channel ready for installation of the gullies.
An epoxy, resin-based material was used to backfill and support the gullies. This was then topped with a finishing polyurethane screed, expansion joints and seals to create a food-safe waterproof system. All completed over 7 days during the Christmas shutdown.
